In depth

Verdict

A competitive contest gets proceedings under way and many can be given chances on their best form but the principals look to be Kid 'z' play, Itsuptoharry and Tandava and the vote goes to Kid'z' play. The selection won well last time out when defeating Leopard Spot and although he has a penalty for that win he won with a little in hand and is taken to win again under conditions that suit. Itsuptoharry rates the main danger on his debut second behind Port Moreno. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and has definite place claims. Tandava was a fair sort on the flat and is another with place claims but he will need to settle better here than he did on his debut if he is to see the trip out. Thorsgill is from a shrewd yard but showed virtually noting in two runs between the flags. However there drop in trip should sit and he could go well at a price. Of the remainder Nerckar Valley has won at up to 12 furlongs on the flat and is another from a top yard that will not have to be any thing special to take a hand in the finish but for the winner we return to the more experienced Kid'z'play.
