    Verdict

Rain would increase the chances of impressive Haydock winner RIO COBOLO who has a decent record at this track and he remains well enough handicapped with a 5lb rise in the weights negated, in part, by the 3lb claim of his apprentice jockey. Sir Nod has a win and a second from two visits here and is only 4lbs higher than his most recent winning mark although Paul Hanagan has been on board for each of his last four successes so his absence is a worry. Hazelrigg has each-way claims given that he has a poor strike rate relative to his ability and Comptonspirit is feared more despite recent indications that the handicapper may now have the upper hand in their battle. Floor Show disappointed when gambled on at Redcar but is worth considering if the money arrives again.
