    Verdict

Len Lungo has wasted no time in putting Word Gets Around over fences and he is preferred to Jodante and Jefertiti. The last mentioned opened his account over fences when scoring at Perth last month and his presence will ensure a decent gallop. However, Lucinda Russell's gelding faces no easy task even in receipt of 8lbs from the selection. Word Gets Around won two bumpers and made a winning start to his hurdling career when landing a novices' event at Kelso in April. The son of King's Ride now makes his debut over the larger obstacles and, with improvement anticipated, he looks well treated on a mark of 105. Peter Beaumont's Jodante, a winner at Kelso in May when last seen, rates the main danger but he lacks the scope of the selection. Hopeful Chance is entitled to come on for his recent return at Hexham and has to be respected at the bottom end of the handicap. Raw Silk starts his chasing career off what looks a fair mark and is another worthy of a mention but preference is for Word Gets Around who may be too good for his rivals.
