A modest opener but if I'M A GANGSTER is excused a below par effort at Southwell last time, then he looks the one to be with and can deliver yet another success for the McCain and Maguire combination. On his previous outing, his hurdles debut, he was still travelling well when capsizing three out at Bangor, prior to which he displayed gradual improvement in bumpers. Somerset Island, a Fibresand winner on the Flat this year, didn't do too badly on his second start over hurdles when third here last month, whilst Grethel fared reasonably well here in handicap company on Saturday evening. Her yard's only jumps winner in the last five years came at this track.
