Verdict

WHAT'S OCCURRIN is the tentative suggestion in the hope that the market gives out the right signals; if the money fails to arrive then Count Boris and Dauntsey Bay are two of the likelier candidates. The selection represents a shrewd yard and we would need to see some confidence behind his chances before siding with him but he has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and is relatively unexposed so it would be no surprise to see him post an improved performance over this longer trip. Count Boris is a solid yardstick and looks sure to be there or thereabouts whilst the yard's Conington would also be of interest if she came in for support. Dauntsey Bay has run well the last twice in similar contests so looks a leading player whilst Capybara won this race last year and races from the same mark; the stable is also represented by Aitch Doubleyou who is worth a second look in the market. Quay Meadow is yet another that could figure in an open race but a chance is taken with What's Occurrin.
