Many in with chances in an open sprint handicap but a tentative vote goes to Strensall while High Esteem, Blessingindisguise and Sholto are others to consider. The selection notched two of his four victories last term over course and distance and has put together a string of useful placed efforts of late including a narrow defeat behind the in-form Sir Sandrovitch at Thirsk last week. The form was given a boost when the winner followed up at Chester subsequently and, off just a 1lb higher mark, Strensall looks sure to prove hard to beat despite top weight. High Esteem incurs a 6lb penalty for a recent all-the-way success at Wolverhampton last week but the form amounts to little and the seven-year-old looks vulnerable back on turf while Blessingindisguise is well treated on last year's course and distance victory but is held by the selection on Thirsk form. Sholto is just 4lb higher compared to last month's Pontefract win and has run well in defeat since so has to be respected but the consistent Strensall is taken to gain an overdue success.
