Verdict

Rated 86, Stepping Ahead drops in class after finishing tailed off again at Pontefract on his latest start. But Jack Garrity's allowance brings LEXINGTON BAY into the equation and he looks a safer bet to run somewhere near his mark - Richard Fahey's charge gets the nod. War Poet finished second in a similar contest here back in October but prolific all-weather winner Jacobs Son has yet to score on this surface in 16 attempts. Valantino Oyster looks best of the rest back in plating company.
