    Verdict

Brut looks the pick of this bunch with Funfair Wane and Twosheetstothewind put up as suitable alternatives. Although he is perhaps a little better with less give underfoot, David Barker's sprinter has a good draw this evening and if reproducing his recent third to Baybshambles at Ripon, he could be good enough to win this. Funfair Wane needs little introduction and if anything, testing conditions may help him as he appears to need six furlongs these days. Twosheetstothewind has no qualms about the surface. She was far from disgraced at Nottingham and compensation awaits soon. Colorus is never far away in Northern sprints and seems fated to go close again. Ronnie Howe hasn't sparkled this term. Toy Top probably needs it faster whilst Blackheath, who has been busy on the all-weather, is watched in the market. Whinhill House has the visors back on. Many of these have questions to answer and we are with Brut for today.
