        Verdict

        Dubai Meydan can make amends for a flop although Ramaad and Marning Star should provide strong opposition. Dubai Meydan probably went off a little too quickly at Southwell last week and he tired rapidly at the business end of matters. That said, Gay Kelleway has been unflinching in the regard she holds him in and we will offer him a chance to redeem his reputation here. Ramaad was not knocked about in a back end Newmarket maiden. Willie Haggas' Yorkshire raiders are always to be respected. Marning Star has already attracted a BHA rating. There is a suspicion that he is better on a faster surface. Ezdeyaad sold for US$300 000 as a yearling but a year is a long time in breeding and he was knocked down for just 1800 guineas at Doncaster. Carr On Fire is bred for this trip and is very much one to note in the market. Imperial Djay shaped with a modicum of promise here and can be expected to improve for that run. He finished ahead of Jakam on the day. Crossing Bridges has had two inauspicious starts thus far but cannot be discounted given her stable's current form. It's difficult to see past the first few in the betting and we like the claims of Dubai Meydan in the getting out stakes.
