Verdict

Act Of Kalanisi has not had the best of seasons so far after a couple of promising victories last year whilst Bijou Dan and Bergonzi are previous course and distance winners and Cloudy City will attempt to lose his maiden tag and snag the victory but our preference is for ARCHITRAVE. The selection seems well weighted for Sir Mark Prescott and he is upped in trip today which could yield dividends. He has a useful enough pedigree and we take a chance with him today. Cloudy City was just half a length behind the decent Yashrid last time out and having put in this respectable run on the all-weather at Wolverhampton should be able to win soon, but despite good breeding the pedigree suggests this trip may be a bridge too far and we will watch him here. Act of Kalanisi runs for the same trainer and although last of three at Folkestone in his latest start this was behind four time winner On Terms and a prior winner this year Black Jacari. He should be respected on the pick of his form although he has yet to show it so far this term. In a tricky contest to call we go with Architrave as our choice.
