Verdict

ASTEROIDEA is by Sea The Stars out of the 1000 Guineas winner Speciosa and has the potential to do better. She won a handicap at this level at Redcar before a good second in better company at Pontefract and can make a successful return. John Quinn saddles Poetic Verse and Mr Gallivanter and either could be good enough, though the former landed a better class handicap here in September and is probably the pick of the pair. Mambo Rhythm completed a double in September but shot up the weights and has struggled since though she'll be fit from a recent run at Kempton. Light Of Asia is just 2lb higher than his victory in slightly lower class at Haydock in September and has his first start for Alan Swinbank.
