Verdict

Chaka Zulu, Golden Chance and Rare Coincidence form the shortlist in this tricky opener to the card and the vote is given to Golden Chance. The selection has a leading amateur rider booked and he should be suited by the drop in trip after running third behind French Mannequin over 2m last time out. That effort confirmed his well-being and if he could reproduce his run at Yarmouth at the beginning of last month when he beat Platinum Charmer then he would indeed have a golden chance tonight. Chaka Zulu rates the main danger as he is a course and distance winner who has been in cracking form of late. However, he was a beaten favourite last time and the suspicion is that the handicapper may just be catching up with him. Rare Coincidence was a little disappointing last time so that run will have to be forgiven if he is to get his head in front tonight in what looks a slightly easier race. Jamaican Flight has been a great servant for his connections but his best days are probably behind him now and for the winner we return to Golden Chance.
