In depth

Verdict

Mr Wolf has won his last two starts and is bound to be popular with backers but a 6lb penalty for the latest of them leaves David Barker's gelding with more to do and preference is for Nistaki, who gets the vote over Flying Edge. The last mentioned has been in good form of late but Eric Alston's gelding disappointed at Haydock last month on his latest start and may be best watched now. Obe One is capable of taking a hand off his current mark but often flatters to deceive and of more interest may be David Barron's Undeterred, who is gradually slipping to a fair mark and comes from a stable that is now back among the winners. With Milton Bradley's sprinters in such good form at present, Peruvian Style has to be respected along with Heather Dalton's Tribute, who has claims on the form shown at Nottingham two starts ago. Albashoosh and Compton Plume are others worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Nistaki, who was the subject of a hefty gamble when dropped to this trip at Leicester last week. Although beaten there, the son of Miswaki only went down a length to Coranglais and he looks worth a chance to re-coup losses in a weaker contest.
