    Verdict

Figjam has topweight but should prove up to the task against Charlie Delta, Grenane and Matterofact. The race that Figjam won at Lingfield was run at a good pace, and although he hung a bit in the closing stages, John Best's charge stuck to his task well and can follow up off a six-pound higher mark. Granted, the runner-up Tin And Lint has let the form down since, but the selection does not have much to worry about here. Charlie Delta's win at Brighton the time before last was in claiming class, but he has since finished a respectable fourth in a Pontefract nursery, so can give the selection most to do. Grenane makes the leap from selling company and Matterofact makes her nursery debut but may need another furlong to open her account. The one to beat is Figjam.
