Verdict

The Bumper that ends the card looks a tricky proposition but after narrowly failing to win under a penalty last time we give Nicky Henderson's TETLAMI another chance to get back on the scoreboard at the expense of the Alan King newcomer Romulus D'artaix, while polytrack bumper winner Open Day also makes the list. An eye-catching winner on debut in a pretty decent contest at Exeter, the pick almost repeated the effort over a longer trip at Warwick last time. He still showed signs of inexperience towards the end of that assignment so considering there should be more to come he looks good to get back in front. Romulus D'artaix has a mixed pedigree but his jumps line suggests he could be pretty useful in time. That same bloodline also suggests he'll want further than this to be at his best but based on his price tag it's fair to say the yard are expecting a bit from this one. Open Day won over a slightly longer trip on Lingfield's Polytrack so it will be interesting if he can act on these softer conditions. He won well that day so it is feasible that he can overcome a penalty. The Laodicean and Jaques Vert also have claims after winning debuts but Tetlami looks an improving sort and can progress again.
