Verdict

Epatante has won both races in the UK in a hack canter and could be anything. She should be at home in this company and rates a threat to all. Willie Mullins has won all three previous renewals and is responsible for seven of the 22 runners this year. Ruby Walsh rode two of those winners and partners My Sister Sarah, though she had to be ridden out to land an ordinary contest at Fairyhouse on New Year’s Day and may not be suited by a further drop in distance. Sancta Simona looks to have stronger claims having finished second in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown last time having won at Gowran and Down Royal before that. Black Tears could be interesting at a price as her win in a Fairyhouse maiden will have boosted her confidence and she has been generally progressive. Sinoria looks a really nice type and has won her last two, including a Listed contest, while Queenohearts has an engine and the ground to suit but her jumping will need to improve if she’s to stay in contention over this trip. POSH TRISH also has a maximum penalty but is still better off at the weights than when beaten by Lust For Glory at Newbury in the autumn, her only defeat so far over timber. She later turned that form on its head on softer going at Newbury and its hard to see her finishing out of the frame here.
