Verdict

Paul Nicholls has trained two of the last four winners and relies on last month's Chepstow runner-up Southfield Vic this year. The Irish have also done well in recent years and are represented by the hat-trick seeking It's All An Act, Punchestown winner Neck Or Nothing and Upsanddowns. Carningli defied a penalty to win over course and distance last month and is clearly useful while Champagne At Tara had the proverbial ton in hand when beating a subsequent winner at Newton Abbot and looks a nice prospect. RED SHERLOCK won both starts last season, despite still showing signs of inexperience. The Skyfarmer and Captain Cutter, second and third behind the Pipe gelding at Ascot in February, have both been impressive winners over hurdles this year and a hat-trick beckons for Timmy Murphy's mount. Wadswick Court may be the pick of Charlie Longsdon's two runners.
