All four of these made winning debuts over fences and Capitaine went one better when scoring again at Market Rasen last month. Paul Nicholls has won six of the nine renewals but his charge found RIVER WYLDE too good over hurdles in the Grade 2 Dovecote at Kempton back in February. The latter finished a creditable third in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle here subsequently and landed the odds at Uttoxeter on his chasing bow with a decent display of jumping. Ozzie The Oscar was less fluent when scoring at Warwick but North Hill Harvey fought back well to win by a neck over course and distance on his recent chasing debut having won the Greatwood Hurdle on this card last year and he can figure in an intriguing contest.
North Hill Harvey 10-3 (11-2) Soon pressed leader, led 4th, made most after, blundered 3 out, driven and hard pressed after next, ridden after last, held on gamely flat, won at Cheltenham 2m (2) gd in Oct beating Sceau Royal (11-7) by nk, 7 ran.
Ozzie The Oscar (IRE) 7-2 (11-1) In touch, tracked leader from 3rd, 7 lengths down 3 out, rallied next, led narrowly last, ridden and kept on flat, won at Warwick 2m (3) gs in Nov beating Shantou Rock (11-6) by 2l, 5 ran.
River Wylde (IRE) 10-11fav (11-2) Chased leading pair, closed 7th, 2nd after 4 out, led 2 out, shaken up to assert flat, won at Uttoxeter 2m (3) gs in Nov beating Hell's Kitchen (11-2) by 3l, 5 ran.
Capitaine (FR) Evensfav (11-8) Tracked front pair, went 2nd behind clear leader 4th, close up 6th, led soon after, drew clear before 3 out, unchallenged after, very easily, won at Market Rasen 2m 1f (3) gd in Oct beating Western Miller (11-8) by 22l, 7 ran.
