Verdict

An uninspiring contest from all angles and SEPTOS is nothing more than the most tentative of recommendations despite being no less than 10lb out of the handicap. He's 0-13 under Rules but did plug on in the closing stages at Lingfield last time under similar conditions to claim the minor placing and a repeat performance of that level at these weights would give him claims off his lowly perch. Master D'Or enjoys the mud and came back to form at Fontwell recently and the 12-year-old should go well again despite topweight with his useful conditional offsetting a 7lb penalty for that success. The 'dark horse' is Ahwaak and a market move should be heeded closely. He hasn't shown much in novice hurdles but has fair point-to-point form to his name and enters open handicap company for his chasing debut off a fair mark. Guydus and Huckleberry are limited but not ruled out from the foot of the weights.
