In depth

Verdict

DISTANT HIGH's profile makes no secret of her affection for the Welsh venue as all three career successes have come at this track on ground ranging from good to firm to heavy. The only course and distance winner in the line-up, Richard Price's mare just repelled Miss Ranger in a desperate finish here last time and can prevail again off a 3lb higher mark under Tom Marquand who has partnered the mare to all three career successes and rides this track especially well. Ixelles Diamond continues to find winning difficult and looks in the handicapper's grip but Dark Amber would be a player at her best and her latest run at Ascot wasn't too bad at all. However, the main danger could come from Owners Day. Neil Mulholland does well with his select band of inmates on the level and this six-year-old mare showed fair form in a Windsor maiden last time behind Baadi and could well be in here off an attractive mark. She's the one to note in the market.
