Verdict

QUIDEO DE TOUZAINE is given the tentative vote here ahead of Lord Tomnoddy and Honourable Arthur. A winner of a Stratford bumper on debut, the selection then finished a fair second to Jau at Hereford on his hurdling bow. He wasn't completely fluent but he should have learnt plenty from that run and if raring to go after a four month break he could take some stopping. Qroktou has shown plenty of promise and his recent run behind Swansbrook at Ascot came in a better race. If he is over the problems that saw him pulled up at Exeter then he should run well at a track that suits. Ortulan is unexposed and seemed to relish jumping hurdles at Ludlow last time; he looks a strong stayer which will help around here. Stablemate Lord Tomnoddy was well-backed at Towcester in January but flopped badly behind Watamu Bay. His earlier form with Predictive looks solid and he can go well. Honourable Arthur looks to be getting the hang of things and his earlier form with Alfie Spinner is strong, although handicaps will be an option after his run today. Beyond Moonbeams may have been flattered by the proximity of his second to Bothy, however it might not be wise to underestimate Jimmy Frost's runner. An interesting opener, with the vote going to Quideo De Touzaine.
