In depth

Verdict

Ardkilly Gunner and Mike Towey have both won between the flags and the latter was just beaten in a bumper at Ffos Las earlier this month. Five Rivers has hinted at ability and Gospel Preacher was probably up against decent company when failing to justify favouritism at Warwick on his second start. Gilzean can improve on his debut run at Plumpton but a few of the newcomers in this are nicely bred and could turn out to be useful. Jonjo O'Neill's Hawk Run and Mr Hooper, who is a full brother to bumper and hurdles winners, catch the eye but the vote goes to BLACK THUNDER who is from the same family as the useful Tataniano and has enough speed in his pedigree to be competitive in a race like this.
