In depth

Verdict

Suggestive might provide the answer here, with Vanderlin, Polar Ben, Three Graces and Aragorn being others to consider. The selection's most recent efforts fully justify his rating and he ran better than his finishing position might suggest at Royal Ascot at York last time. In receipt of weight from some of his main rivals, he gets the call. Vanderlin loves this type of track and remains competitive from his current mark but, based on his Group 3 success at Newmarket last October, Polar Ben has the edge over him. That said, the latter's efforts since then have been disappointing. Mogaamer is threatening to be decent but still has a point or two to prove at present, while Milk It Mick, who came back to form last autumn, lacks a recent run. Three Graces does not have much to find on the selection based on Haydock form of last June but, overall, Aragorn, who has a fairly lofty reputation, still has a point to prove. Once again, though, the vote goes to Suggestive.
