Verdict

Tom Dascombe has won this twice in recent years and Commonsensical will make a bold bid to continue the trend. Well supported on his Newmarket debut, he only just failed to hold off Fancy Man on soft ground at Haydock and will be difficult to beat though STATE PATROL made a very good impression at York, staying on strongly in the straight, and looks the one to be with. His stable also run Tommy And Andy, who is related to plenty of winners including the smart Gabrial. Elusive Artist is by Zoffany out of a mare who produced a winner with her first foal while Praise Of Shadows is a half-brother to a winner in Italy.
