Verdict

Titi Makfi was just caught in a Listed race over 1m4f at Goodwood last Saturday. The drop in distance should suit but she likes to lead and that could be problematic from stall 10. Gulf Of Poets ran well from a poor draw at Wetherby last weekend when seeking a hat-trick but has been hampered by his starting position again here. It’s four years since Battersea ran over a trip this short and he’s hard to win with but Super Kid wasn’t disgraced after a lay-off at Ripon and Dark Red never seems to run a bad race, though is possibly a few pounds too high. We’ll take a chance on GRAND INQUISITOR, who was in good form on Polytrack earlier in the year after a brief flirtation with hurdles. He impressed in a competitive handicap at York last season and, though much higher in the weights now, still has some scope over this trip.
