In depth

Verdict

It could be worth taking a chance here on Beckermet who is put forward to get the better of Daaweitza, Captain Marvellous and Vanderlin. The selection loves it here, he goes with cut in the ground and he has a good draw. The worry for him is the trip as he has never won over 7f, but with doubts surrounding a number of the others runners in the field he looks worth chancing. Barry Hills does well with his runners here so Captain Marvellous is certainly worth strong consideration. He has won here in the past, albeit over 5f, but he also has winning form over this trip and with cut in the ground and he does have a fair draw. Daaweitza is a course and distance winner but he is best on fast ground and he looks to have it all to do from stall 9 so he could be one to swerve on this occasion. Vanderlin has also got course and distance winning form and although he has won with a bit of cut in the ground, he is also at his best on a fast surface and he is another who has been done no favours by the draw. A tricky contest to get proceedings underway and we will take a chance and side with Beckermet as the pick.
