        Verdict

        Ballista seems to love racing around Chester but with an unhelpful draw muting our enthusiasm, BOOMERANG BOB can gain an overdue victory. A sixth in the Wokingham has to go down as one of his best performances for some time and the handicapper appears to be finally giving the five-year-old a chance. Confessional is on a significant losing run though he is now 2lb lower than his last winning mark. Bondesire and Hitchens are previous winners over course and distance with the former impressing under a competent Julie Burke ride. Cheworee made all to win over five furlongs donning practically every piece of headgear known to man and it remains to be seen whether the mare can glean any confidence for getting her head in front. David Evans saddled last year's winner so Verse Of Love, who scored over seven furlongs earlier in the season, is respected.
