Gordon Elliott quickly reverts Taglietelle to hurdles after a poor run over fences at Fairyhouse on Saturday. But he hadn't looked at his best on his previous starts over timber and though receiving 10lb from CLONDAW WARRIOR the latter's recent form is far superior. A brilliant winner of the Galway Hurdle, he then finished runner-up in the American St Leger at Arlington and looked to be feeling the effects of the journey when beaten a long way in the Doncaster Cup. Shanpallas has a higher rating over fences but though landing a tough Ballinrobe handicap in May he disappointed when strongly fancied in a similar race to this at Cork in July. Captainofthefleet is a real heavy-ground performer while Val De Ferbet is another with better form over the bigger obstacles having won a Grade 2 novice chase at Naas last year.
