In depth

Verdict

Fozzy Stack, who took over from his father Tommy last season but only had a few runners, saddles his first-ever winner at the opening Turf meeting at Naas last week and will be hoping Great Minds follows suit. He won this in 2015 but hasn't run since well beaten in the race a year ago. Downforce is a smart handicapper with four victories to his credit but just fell short when tackling this company at Leopardstown in October. Paul Midgley does well with his raiders and Giant Spark won a Navan handicap in November. A recent run under a huge weight at Wolverhampton will have put him straight for this. GYMKHANA (NAP) won over a mile in France and made a successful start for Ger Lyons at Naas a week ago when the ground was testing. He's been put up 8lb but while conditions are in his favour he can win again. Master Speaker is usually thereabouts though a strike-rate of 1-34 on Turf tells its own story but Only Mine would provide a big threat if ready. He's well up to this class though the ground could be a problem and he's needed his opening runs in his two previous seasons.
