    In depth

    Verdict

Willie Mullins was in tremendous form at Galway last week and SHOULDA LIED can keep up the good work for the yard. He didn't show much in three runs last season but it was a different matter on his handicap debut at Navan last month where he showed up well for most of the way over slightly further. With that under his belt he can gain his first victory, though Bold Knight looks a real threat. Pat Smullen, who is on board the selection, rode Michael O'Callaghan's charge when narrowly beaten by Wild Irish Rose at Fairyhouse and the winner has gone on to much better things subsequently. Big Ego appeared to enjoy the softer conditions when gaining his first success at Gowran while Nimitz takes a big leap in distance having been racing mainly over a mile. Marvellous Ways has been making progress and there was plenty to like about her staying-on second over slightly shorter at Killarney.
