In depth

Verdict

Winning point-to-pointer MONBEG NOTORIOUS (NAP) has progressed as he's stepped up in trip over hurdles and beat a subsequent winner at Down Royal when the remainder were in another parish. But it won't be easy conceding weight to Screaming Rose as the latter has been narrowly beaten in two Listed contests recently, though Gordon Elliott's charge is taken to complete his hat-trick. Catcheragain also also on a three-timer and deserves a crack at this grade though she was a long way behind Screaming Rose, despite receiving 8lb, at Killarney in July. Rathnure Rebel, an easy winner of a point at Dromahane in 2014, ran poorly in his two starts in the spring but was very impressive on his reappearance at Clonmel when wearing a hood for the first time. Lilywhite Gesture hasn't done enough to suggest she can win at this level.
