    Verdict

It's a surprise to find SCINTILLULA entered here after her close third behind Ernest Hemingway at Leopardstown on Thursday, especially as she looked to have had a hard race. There's no doubt she has the ability to win this and Jim Bolger wouldn't run her unless satisfied she had recovered. Mark Johnston sends the prolific Maputo from Yorkshire and the son of Cape Cross has every right to be in this company after progressing through handicaps to land a Listed race at Hamilton. Fortify is also stepping up in class and couldn't get involved in a lucrative handicap at Galway but Caponata is well up to this grade at her best and was beaten a short-head by Up in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes over the track and trip last September. Qewy will need to improve but John Oxx' yard has finally struck form so there may be more to come.
