Dermot Weld has won the last four of these and has two entries. Amma Grace runs for the race sponsors and she was runner-up to Thundering Nights in a Listed contest over 1m1f here and will be suited by the extra furlong. Zawara was always travelling like a winner when beating the odds-on Epsom Derby third Amhran Na Bhfiann in a Naas maiden and looks an ideal type for this. Roger Varian sends York winner Gold Wand from the UK, though her overall form gives her a bit to find, while Cayenne Pepper hasn't quite recaptured her brilliant juvenile form. The latter's stable companion ONE VOICE couldn't live with Love in the Yorkshire Oaks but is better over this trip. Her neck second to Fancy Blue in the Nassau at Goodwood was a superb effort and she had Magic Wand around four lengths behind that day. She had earlier been beaten into fifth behind Lemista in a Group 2 here but got no sort of run, though the winner keeps on improving. Magic Wand had a brilliant autumn campaign last year with a victory in the Group 1 Mackinnon at Flemington the highlight so can’t be ignored.
