Verdict

Jim Bolger has won this for the past two years and has three entries this time. The newcomer Claiomh Solais is presumably the best at this stage as Kevin Manning has chosen to ride her but there are some very interesting rivals. QUEST FOR PEACE made a fair debut behind Cocozza at Cork in October and there is plenty of improvement in the son of Galileo who gets the vote for the Ballydoyle camp. Sapphire and Red Shaheen are well connected and should make decent three-year-olds while the newcomer Hisaabaat is related to numerous winners and can go well. Jolie Jioconde didn't take to Polytrack at Dundalk but his earlier efforts in a much better grade point to his obvious chance under Johnny Murtagh.
