In depth

Verdict

After easy handicap victories at Naas and Sligo it was no surprise when Solent Ridge failed to get in a blow from a 15lbs higher mark at Leopardstown but he ran well enough behind Finicius to suggest he can make his presence felt. Tsar Paul was on a mark of 56 when scoring at Dundalk in May and is now on 78 despite not winning since. Gandolfini is probably better over an extra furlong these days as he showed at Sligo earlier this month while Lovestoned couldn't cope with a 12lbs rise at Naas after her shock victory there previously. Three-year-olds have a fair record in the race so the chances of NOTGONNAGIVEUP and Queenie Keen are greatly respected after their runs behind Tellelle here a couple of weeks ago and the former just gets the vote as she has been lightly raced and looks on the upgrade.
