Verdict

The 2,000 Guineas form has already received a boost with fifth-placed Roaring Lion having won the Dante in such good fashion. He split Elarqam and Gustav Klimt at Newmarket with the former just unable to quicken at the business end and Aidan O'Brien's charge failing to find an extra gear after being up with the pace. That was obviously a superb trial for this and both will be difficult to keep out of the money though it's another Ballydoyle entry, U S NAVY FLAG, who gets the nod. He went to Longchamp for the French version where he attempted to make all but found little when headed and he'd been well beaten behind Gustav Klimt at Leopardstown earlier though that was on heavy going. Ryan Moore, whose hat-trick on him last summer included the Dewhurst, sticks with him here and he's taken to bounce back on this quicker ground. The unbeaten Zihba deserves a crack at this level after his Group 3 victory at Leopardstown but Symbolization has a mountain to climb after landing a Newmarket handicap.
