Camps Bay would be a serious player at this level if it could be guaranteed that he would turn up in the right frame of mind, however, that assumption is a big gamble in itself so it can pay to take a chance that RUSSIAN GEORGE is capable of following up last week's success at Haydock; Dream Of Fortune and Piquante are others to bear in mind. Piquante made steady progress during her time with Michael Bell and, being only lightly raced; she has a bit more to offer. The Selkirk filly might just have needed the run when she finished down the field on her reappearance at Pontefract, so she would be dangerous to rule out too quickly. Dream Of Fortune did well on the all-weather during the winter and is much better than he managed to show in a claimer when he was last seen out. David Evans still paid £6,000 for him on that occasion and it will interest to see if a short break has helped to revive his interest. Camps Bay has faced much stronger opposition in the past and ought to appreciate this ease in grade. However, he is a moody so-and-so, and judging by the non-sustained effort shown on his reappearance, the switch to the David Nicholls yard is yet to start reaping a reward. Therefore, Russian George may be a more profitable partner to side with on this occasion. The four-year-old displayed a willing attitude on Merseyside seven days ago and, from just a 4lb higher mark, Russian George has a live chance of giving his inexperienced rider a day to remember.
