In depth

Verdict

Potentiale gets the tentative with both Cotton Eyed Joe and Casual Affair worth noting. The selection caught the eye when second to Hatton Flight at Goodwood last month and in doing so now runs off a three pound higher mark. He still looks progressive and we feel if reproducing his best he has every chance of getting his head in front once again. Cotton Eyed Joe won on the all weather before running well to finish third of twelve at Hamilton last time out. The yard generally like a tilt in the ring when they fancy their horses so any market support should be noted. Casual Affair is tough and consistent and should win more races than he does. That said the handicapper may well have him where he wants him but another good run can be expected. But for the winner we return to Potentiale.
