Verdict

Deadly Encounter could not have won with much more ease than when making a winning debut in a Beverley maiden last month and it is hard to get away from Richard Fahey's colt after that run so he gets the vote to follow up here, getting the verdict ahead of Spin Cycle and Harwalla. The last mentioned has shown improvement with each start but also improved for the step up to six furlongs when successful at Ripon last time so he may be best watched back over the minimum. Kerrys Requiem has run well in both starts but needs to improve to trouble the selection, while dual winner Dispol Kylie was found wanting in a decent race at York last time and may be booked for a place at best here. Elegant Cad faces no easy task on his debut and of more interest may be Bryan Smart's recent Hamilton winner Spin Cycle, who is closely matched with Dispol Kylie on Thirsk form. Deadly Encounter has solid claims though and is hard to oppose.
