Verdict

Eureka has been highly tried since notching a double in May and June but far from disgraced in finishing fifth in the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury and sixth in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood. This is less competitive but he is conceding weight all round and may find GOLD CITY too strong. The Godolphin colt looked likely to extend his unbeaten record in Ripon's Two-Year-Old Trophy until cut down close home by Gerfalcon. He's still heading in the right direction and will appreciate today's quicker surface. Artistic Jewel tries 6f for the first time but was a trifle unlucky at Newbury last time and may be best of the rest ahead of maiden winners Alaskan Bullet and Foxtrot Romeo.
