Lakeman, Lucky Numbers and Mythicism are the three to take out of a competitive nursery, with LUCKY NUMBERS set to come out on top. Mythicism found five furlongs too short on his debut at Beverley, although he kept on well that day in a race which has worked out extremely well. His narrow win over this distance at Redcar ensures the handicapper has not been too severe and he looks a live contender. The booking of Ryan Moore for Paul Green's Lucky Numbers looks significant and soft ground appears to suit this colt-he has won on similar ground on the two occasions he has encountered it. He shoulders a six pound penalty but is another who can go well. Lakeman enjoys testing conditions as he showed at York in the summer but his form has rather tailed off since then. The handicapper has been unrelenting and he is taken on. Lucky Numbers' form has a solid look to it and he is taken to continue on the upgrade. (John Temple)
