CHEVETON, Oldjoesaid and Tom's Laughter make the shortlist in this big field, with Cheveton's winning run set to continue. Oldjoesaid is only two pounds higher than when scoring at Newbury in April and encounters soft ground for the first time since that success. He is well drawn here, has had a relatively light campaign, and this classy individual is fully capable of playing a leading role. Toms Laughter has made excellent progress this season and showed he is still capable of winning off his current mark when just run out of it close home recently. That was over five furlongs, and this extra 140 yards and more give in the ground can see him to best effect. He too is well drawn and a good run is anticipated. Cheveton has been raised another five pounds for his recent win at Great Leighs. That was his first all-weather success, underlining his massive improvement this season. Three of his five successive wins have been with give in the ground, and drawn nearer the favoured stands side, Cheveton can complete an astonishing six-timer in this, one of the top handicap sprints of the season.
