        Verdict

        This is tougher than the handicap Lancelot Du Lac won at Wolverhampton a fortnight ago, though it was soft ground when he landed last year’s Stewards’ Cup at Goodwood. He had earlier finished in front of Ice Age at Lingfield but the latter will be sharper for that run. PERFECT PASTURE made a winning return last year and was last seen in action finishing second in the Listed Wentworth Stakes over track and trip. He finished ahead of both Danzeno and Teruntum Star on that occasion and Mick Easterby’s charge gets the vote on that form. Teruntum Star beat Mr Lupton when winning at York in October while Blue De Vega has run well since joining Bob Cowell and is not badly treated on his best form in Ireland.
