Verdict

WOT WAY CHIEF gets the pick here ahead of Mongorno, Sea The Light and Arumun. Malcolm Jefferson's 8-year-old was well beaten here last time out in a more competitive race than this, but he will be suited by this step-up in trip and he should have no problems handling the cut in the ground. Sea The Light should come on for the run at Kempton last time as he had been off the track since the end of 2006, and he remains unexposed so he is certainly one to note in the market. Mongorno was no match for Amble Forge last time out but it was still a decent effort from Ferdy Murphy's six-year-old. However, he has yet to get his head in front in 11 starts over the bigger obstacles and his best form is on more testing ground. Arumun put in a slightly better effort last time when he finished in front of our selection, but this extra yardage will suit Wot Way Chief who looks the percentage call.
