Verdict

This looks pretty tight with a handful closely matched on today's terms. Ayr Gold Cup winner Captain Ramius came up short when stepped up to today's trip at Ascot last time behind SKILFUL. The latter wasn't winning out of turn as he'd been running well in Listed company and is taken to go in again in this. Monsieur Chevalier won a Listed race over 6f at Goodwood last month and could figure on that form but Bronterre has yet to fulfil the promise of his close-up fourth in last year's Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes and Right To Dream has struggled at this level before.
