MAKAAMEN is taken to land this maiden at the main expense of Invisible Man, Olympic Dream and African Cheetah. Barry Hills's colt made a pleasing impression on his debut at Newmarket when he chased home Evasive. We know that he goes well fresh and with the yard in decent form he should go close. Invisible Man was backed as though defeat was out of the question on his debut at Great Leighs so under the circumstances it was a disappointing effort to finish third behind Emirates Champion. There should be more to come, but he will need to step up on that effort if he is to get competitive here. Olympic Dream was running in Listed company towards the back of last season so he can't be ignored, although he has yet to prove himself over this trip. York Key Bar has had a few chances now and he looks worth opposing, while African Cheetah is an interesting newcomer and he is worth a market check. We will return to Makaamen as the selection.
