In depth

Verdict

Quargent’s win last summer came on Polytrack and she faces a stiff task under a penalty on her return to action. Arabian Gift has an even longer absence to overcome but fitness is rarely an issue for one from her yard and she only found one too good here on debut – the step up in trip shouldn’t be a problem. Daisy Chain is another who will relish the extra distance as she is a sister to a 1m6f winner in Ireland. Richard Hannon’s filly made a promising start over a mile at Newbury. CRYSTAL MOONLIGHT has a cracking middle-distance pedigree and should leave her debut at Kempton in November well behind this year. She was given a gentle introduction and has been given plenty of time to mature. Simple Thought, Junderstand and Hulcote have all shown ability but look vulnerable to less-exposed types.
