Verdict

It could be a profitable day for followers of the champion jockey, who has strong claims again here on board TOUR D'ARGENT. A decent sort in bumpers last season, he made a promising start to his hurdling career despite meeting trouble in-running when second at Warwick and can go one better today. Parsnip Pete was runner-up to Cry Of Freedom at Huntingdon last month and matched that effort when fifth in a better race at Cheltenham subsequently. He looks the danger as winning pointer Shockingtimes returns from a break and there are question marks hanging over John Mackie's pair Coral Cove and The Banana Man.
