MAINSTAY is the hopeful choice in an interesting maiden where Law Of The Range, Goolagong and Ajool are amongst those to be feared. There are also a good number of well bred debutantes amongst the opposition and it will be interesting to see if there's any confidence behind the chances of Najoom Zaman, Heavenly Dawn and Najlaa to name but three as those with experience appear to set a fair, but not insurmountable, standard. Law Of The Range looked in need of the experience when staying on well at Yarmouth and Holland is a positive booking for the yard. She has the benefit of a run under her belt as does Goolagong who didn't run too badly on her reappearance despite being turned over at a short price whilst Ajool hails from a yard whose runners are respected at this track and she showed promise on debut. However, we'll take a chance with John Gosden's sister to the smart Lateen Sails and hope that Mainstay can improve sufficiently from her debut to maintain the trainer's excellent track record with his older horses.
