In depth

Verdict

Not a strong race but the experience of MIDNIGHT RIDER could prove valuable and he is preferred to Indigo Way and Fabiello. Chris Wall's colt filled second spot behind Major Art at Lingfield and that horse has since gone on to finish third in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood this week. Quick ground seems to suit and a bold run is expected. Abjer needs a market check although he is bred to be more effective next year over middle distances, Fabiello ran well in defeat at Wolverhampton behind Fifth Dimension although the time wasn't strong, whilst Masonic Lady didn't shape with much promise at Yarmouth and needs to take a decent step forward to feature today. Indigo Way is already gelded but he showed some promise in a top Newbury maiden in May won by subsequent Coventry Stakes winner Strong Suit; he will come on for that experience and the longer trip should be in his favour. History Repeating is out of a dam who won over this trip at two however we are happy to plump for Midnight Rider.
